Intro

In Haiti, people are sick of handouts. They want jobs. They want to start businesses that will grow and succeed in providing for them and their families. I just came back from Leogane, Haiti, where I worked with Sustain Haiti, a small but powerful organization that provides training and community assistance in:
  • Microfinance and Small Business Support
  • Health and Sanitation
  • Family-level Agriculture
  • English as a Second Language
  • Orphanage Assistance
Sustain Haiti recently completed its second annual Business Plan Competition, providing cash prizes to 10 winners from among hundreds of entrants to help them start new, viable businesses.
To help Sustain Haiti expand and improve its Business Plan Competition for next year, I'm doing a fundraising bike ride from Washington, DC to Miami, FL, starting September 9!  If we can raise $5000 for next year's Business Plan Competition, we'll be able to increase both the number of winners and the size of their awards, as well as provide more training and consulting for all participants. My bicycle and I will do the hard part; all you have to do is donate
Check out my Facebook page and follow me on Twitter -- @Eric4Haiti ! And if you'd like to meet up for lunch or come ride with me for a few hours, let me know!
Mèsi anpil!
