Let's meet up!

Come ride with me -- the more, the merrier! I'd be delighted to have company at any point along the trip, even if it's just for a couple of hours.

If you'd like to get together, just hit me up on Twitter @Eric4Haiti or post on the 1,000 Miles for Haiti Facebook wall so we can arrange a time and place.

I'm planning to set out from Washington DC on Friday September 9, and arrive in Miami on Thursday October 6. I'll mostly be following the East Coast Greenway, a route that runs all the way from Key West to Maine, with a few deviations. Currently, the Greenway is about 80% on-road and 20% bike path, though the eventual goal is to create a bike path running the entire length of the Atlantic Coast. Some of the major cities and towns I'll be stopping in along the way include Richmond, VA; Durham, Fayetteville and Wilmington, NC; Charleston, SC; Savannah, GA; and Cocoa, FL.

Can't ride with me? Meet me for a meal! Breakfast, lunch, brunch, dinner, you name it. I'm always in the mood to eat. Or we can get together and do some yoga, banter about pop culture, feed the ducks -- whatever you'd like. Part of the joy of cycling is meeting great people along the way, and I can't wait. I've heard about that legendary Southern hospitality.
